Michael Charles Owens is a Buddhist teacher, translator, and author. He has been teaching Buddhism for over twenty years.
M.C. Owens uses a sutra-based curriculum to teach the history, philosophy, and practice of Buddhism. He has taught in universities, colleges, monasteries, and a variety of unique venues including museums, teahouses, and nightclubs.
Through LOTUS UNDERGROUND, M.C. Owens offers on-line group courses as well as 1:1 private study. He also translates Buddhist sutras from Chinese, which are the basis of most courses, and he is producing a new standardized canon of Buddhist sutras.
Michael is also a teacher for the San Francisco Dharma Collective, where he currently hosts a discussion every Sunday night that brings brings the Dharma to life through recitation, translation, humor, and storytelling.
